About Bonnie
The Schlachte Method
Bonnie has spent the past 25 years developing and implementing a proven method of learning for effectively teaching the arts to individuals of all abilities and learning styles in an inclusive environment focusing on the strength of each individual student. Every child learns differently and The Schlachte Method™ uses a multi-sensory approach that utilizes visual, auditory, spatial, imaginative, and kinesthetic modes of learning in each activity so that all students can participate simultaneously through their preferred learning styles.
Education
Bonnie’s vast career in the development of successful programs and specialized services, with degrees in both psychology and dance, enables her to teach and to train other teachers to create the environment in which to learn classical ballet that integrates students with neurological and cognitive challenges with conventional ballet classes. This proven mutually supportive and accepting approach provides multiple points of entry for all learners who may find additional benefit from their less utilized learning styles.

Bonnie has been invited to partner with Brown University Artists and Scientists as Partners (ASaP). They currently are focusing on teaching the method to their students and studying the success of the teaching method for all students of all abilities. Bonnie has been interviewed and featured in national media such as Time Magazine, USA Today, The Today Show, New York Times, Dance Magazine, and many others.

Her ability to empower students of all ages, instill a sense of pride and accomplishment and create a class where students learn classical dance in a warm engaging setting is unmatched and worthy of all the accolades she has received.

You can take classes with Bonnie in Agoura Hills. For now she offers private lessons in Agoura Hills, and stay tuned for in-person group lessons in Reseda.

You can take group classes with Bonnie from anywhere in the world. All virtual lessons are taught by Bonnie.
