Long Distant Learning

Each candidate of the Schlachte Method will have to complete nine of the following courses through online study program. Each candidate has a full year from the introductory seminar to complete all course work. Candidates can begin teaching the methodology upon completing the initial seminar. However, full certification requires that individuals finish the long distant learning component.

Courses Offered

Classroom Observations

Each candidate must be observed teaching the methodology for at least four hours prior to certification. This observation can be done remotely through the use of video recording, or through remote access (such as Skype). Physical observations of classes can be arranged as well (either through the candidate teaching at the Ballet For All Kids site or by having a certified Schlachte Method teacher observe at a specified location). All expenses for observation are the responsibility of the candidate. Written notes or verbal consultations will be given at the end of each observation.

Experience Requirement

It is required that all potential teachers have a minimum of 45 hours of work with children with special needs. This can be through volunteering with organizations, prior work experience in the field, teaching children with special needs, etc. This allows all candidates the experience needed with this population as well as the ability to outreach and understand the parent community. Documentation of hours will need to be submitted prior to certification.

This component can be waived if the candidate is being sponsored by an organization specializing in children with exceptional needs. Please email us for more information on this option.
