Ballet For All Kids

Thank you for your interest in Ballet For All Kids. The purpose of Ballet For All Kids is to celebrate the soul and spirit of all children. Ballet For All Kids employs the Schlachte Method of teaching. The Schlachte Method was developed to assist all children regardless of their abilities or disabilities, strengths or weakness, to learn and reap the benefits of a classical ballet education.

Children welcome to participate in Ballet For All Kids:
•	Ages 3 through 18
•	Respond well to music and visual cues
•	Have good receptive language skills (can have limited/no expressive language)
•	Know their body parts
•	Be toilet trained
•	Be able to tolerate a forty-five minute class

This method has been very successful in teaching children within the Autism Spectrum, children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, children with anxiety, children with ADHD and neuro-typical children.

Ballet For All Kids focuses on movement skills that enhance proper body position/alignment, proprioceptive and sequencing skills, balance and neurological coordination. Ballet For All Kids classes also build the child’s self confidence and self esteem and increases social skills.

Ballet For All Kids offers a variety of levels (from Pre-Ballet to Level 2A) to best suit your child’s abilities. Please see the classes section of the website for more details.

What Parents have said about Ballet For All Kids/The Schlachte Method:
I have been extremely impressed from my first contact with Bonnie about the class – with the quality and competence in every level and aspect of the class.  I credit the success (of my son) to the knowledge/background/successful techniques of the teacher, the physical environment (simple/non-distracting), the well planned and thoroughly thought out and developmentally appropriate curriculum, and the high teacher/helper (to student) ratio.

We really appreciate how highly structured the class is. It is set up for success. And we feel it is
great that the kids are in there without parents. This promotes independence and accountability.
Can they (the kids) sleep here?
(The class) has given (my son) a disciplined forum each week to learn to listen, follow directions, and
be a part of a group. There is honestly nothing I can think of (to improve the classes) – from the
DVD to the picture schedule to the color coding – I really think every base has been covered. We
really feel spoiled – from everything given to us as parents, as well as the kids.
Ballet for all Kids is nothing short of a miracle. My daughter loved ballet from a distance (going to
performances, watching DVD’s of great ballet companies), but never had a successful class experience.
Bonnie’s technique, patience, and encouragement have literally made my daughter’s dream of dancing
come true. Now, when she meets someone, she can’t wait to tell them, “I take ballet!”
