Bonnie Schlachte - Founder/Director Bonnie has worked extensively with clients with Autism and other Developmental Disabilities in various settings since 1992. Bonnie worked in the Regional Center system as a Community Services Specialist and then as a Consumer Services Supervisor. She has developed various programs throughout her career from Behavioral based Day Programs to Quality Assurance/Staff Education programs. For the past ten years, Bonnie has been a Director of both Residential and Day Services. Bonnie developed The Schlachte Method™ to assist children with disabilities to gain the most out of a classical ballet education. The Schlachte Method™ believes that every child has abilities that can be used as a springboard to learn new skills and enhance each child’s personal accomplishments. Bonnie was trained in the Royal Academy of Dance system through the Intermediate level and then preceded to become a Maryland Arts Scholar in Dance and a Maryland Creative Arts Scholarship recipient. This program is the synthesis of Bonnie’s two career paths – first of dance then of working with people with disabilities.
